Graeme Cole was an octochamp and the champion of Series 65.
He made his debut in the 2nd show of the series, beating rollover champion Liam Herringshaw in an enthralling encounter. He won 7 more shows, accumulating 813 points, finishing just 11 points the #1 seed, Mark Deeks.
He returned 6 months later for the finals, not facing too much competition in his quarter- and semi-finals against #7 seed Nikki Roberts and #3 seed Paul Keane. But, the final was a completely different prospect altogether.
He faced the surprise finalist Carl Williams in a game which saw Cole behind for 5 rounds in the middle, before taking the lead in round 11, which he extended to 10 thanks to his 1 away offering in the last numbers. So, Cole was just seconds away from winning, but Williams unscrambled TIMEUPLAD in the 26th second to force the game to a 2nd conundrum, but Cole fought back to turn VAANGELIS to GALVANISE, and become the new Countdown champion in Jeff Stelling's final show as presenter.
He is also an Apterite who took part in the Apterous Masters 2011 tournament.
After his octochamp run, Cole made his CO-event debut at Co:Lon 2011, which he then followed up with COLIN 2012.
