Championship of Champions III ran from 22 to 30 June 1987, and was won by Harvey Freeman. It comprised mainly contestants from Series 9 through 12; however, the champion of Series 6, Darryl Francis, had been unavailable during Championship of Champions II and was thus also entered into III instead.
