Episodes with Jo Brand |
Jo Brand is a stand-up comic and regular Dictionary Corner guest, and is noted by the producers as being one of few celebrities who would be capable of holding their own on the show (which was demonstrated in the second episode of the celebrity series). As such, it is entirely believable that she does indeed spot the words she lays claim to... particularly the nonsense ones.
Brand was first revealed to be a Countdown fan when she appeared on the special retrospective programme The 2000th Edition in 1997.
She, Pam Ayres, Nicholas Owen and Paul Zenon are the only people to have guested on episodes presented by Richard Whiteley, Des Lynam, Des O'Connor, Jeff Stelling and Nick Hewer, although she was also a contestant on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 3, Episode 5 and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 4, Episode 3 (presented by Jimmy Carr), thus she is the only person to have appeared on episodes hosted by all six hosts.
