Episodes with Jo Brand |
Jo Brand is a guest on Countdown, and a contestant in Series 1 of Celebrity Countdown, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Series 2 of Celebrity Countdown. She is a stand-up comic, writer, presenter and actor.
Brand is noted by the producers as being one of few celebrities who would be capable of holding their own on the show (which was demonstrated in Episode C2). As such, it is entirely believable that she does indeed spot the words she lays claim to… particularly the nonsensical ones.
Brand was first revealed to be a Countdown fan when she appeared on the special retrospective programme The 2000th Edition in 1997.
She and Pam Ayres are the only people to have guested on episodes presented by Richard Whiteley, Des Lynam, Des O'Connor, Jeff Stelling, Nick Hewer and Anne Robinson, although she was also a contestant on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (presented by Jimmy Carr).
She took over Rachel Riley's job for the final numbers round in Episode C11, in so doing making it look difficult.
