The 7 round format, LLNLLNC, was used exclusively for the 1997 Christmas special and Celebrity Countdown. The format is half of the 14 round format formerly used for grand finals.

Since then, it has been the second-permanent format of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown in the form of LNLNLLC. Some episodes contain bonus rounds in between Rounds 4 and 5 which have been bolded on the respective episode's pages for easy reference.
