Joe Wilkinson is a guest and contestant on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He is a stand-up comedian, actor and screenwriter, seen on panel shows, such as 8 Out of 10 Cats.

On 24 August 2012, he became the show's first male arithmetician, when he filled in for Rachel Riley during the second numbers game of 8 Out of 10 Cats Mash-up: The Rematch (in that same show, he also appeared as a contestant). For 29 episodes until Episode Cats32 (excluding two episodes in between as he was "away on holiday"), he appeared as Riley's "assistant" for the second half of every show. This was despite the host Jimmy Carr saying that he no longer works for the show since the 2014 Christmas special some five episodes before his final appearance on the job. Subsequently, he has made occasional appearances in episodes where he was not the Dictionary Corner guest, including four where he actually does something.

He first became a guest captain in Episode Cats42 in 2015, and has subsequently reappeared as the team captain in various episodes since then. Perhaps his most famous moment came in Episode Cats98 when he recited a poem that made everyone present laugh out of control, with the scene going viral on YouTube. [1]
