Tony Warren was an octochamp in Series 55, defeating Jenny Turner on 10th May 2006 towards the end of Series 54 to take the champion's chair. Tony followed this with 5 more wins. After making way for the series finals and Championship of Champions XII Tony completed two more victories to attain octochamp status with 712 points, to become the eventual #4 seed.
Tony came back to face an off-form Chris McHenry in the quarter finals, running out an easy 75 − 37 winner. Phil Watson was next, this time Tony had a bad start, finding himself 16 points behind after just 3 rounds. However, by the end of round 11 the scores were level again. Phil retook a slight edge, going into the conundrum 7 points ahead, but Tony turned LYFETREES into FREESTYLE in 9 seconds to book his final berth. In the final, Richard Brittain made sure the series victory was his, pulling away from Tony in the 2nd part and never looking back.
He returned for the Championship of Champions XIII facing the unbeaten Junaid Mubeen in the first round, but lost 80 - 55 in one of the lowest scoring games in the competition. His own record of his experience on the show can be read on The Countdown Page here.
