Jackie McLeod

Jackie McLeod was the runner-up of Series 21, and a participant in 30th Birthday Championship. She was a Local Government Secretary from Highgate, North London.
McLeod won three heat games before losing to Malcolm Mackinnon. This was enough to see her return for the series finals as the No. 8 seed where she beat Lew Schwarz and Nick Saloman, on her way to the final against Barry Grossman. However, she lost the final by 99 – 67 with Grossman's quicker conundrum finger being the major difference between the two.
McLeod returned for Championship of Champions VI, but was beaten in the first quarter-final by Chris Waddington.
McLeod also played in the Supreme Championship, and beat Lawrence Pearse and Clive Spate in the first and second rounds respectively before losing to Joyce Cansfield in the group finals.
In 2013, she returned to the show as one of 41 contestants that took part in 30th Birthday Championship. However, she lost her only match in a rematch of the final against Barry Grossman.
She was also a Scrabble expert.
She appeared on several other game shows: the short-lived Channel 4 show of Beat the Nation in 2004, Brainbox Challenge in 2008 (where she was beaten by Mark Jeary), !mpossible, Alphabetical in 2017 and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2019 but only managed to win £1,000 after answering her £16,000 question incorrectly. She also won a series of Turnabout and an episode of The Weakest Link.
McLeod sadly passed away on 3 September 2026.
